That’s why we’ve come up with this list of heartfelt homemade Valentine’s Day gifts that’ll bring a smile to your sweetheart’s face this February 14th.

 Great Homemade Valetines Day Gifts

1. “Reasons I Love You” Jar.

When you’ve been in a relationship for a while, it’s easy to start taking certain things for granted, from things she does to make your life easier (like always making sure you have a clean shirt for work) to the way her smile lights up the room. Let her know that you appreciate everything she is and all that she does for you with a “Reasons I Love You” jar. These love jars make amazing homemade Valentine’s Day gifts because they’re so incredibly simple and cheap to create while still being 100 times as sentimental as flowers and chocolates.

Instructions: Start with a large, clean mason jar. If you don’t have one lying around the house or want to create something a little fancier, check out these Love Design Mason Jars (Target - $28). They’ll save you some decorating time, as the glass already has the word ‘love’ emblazoned on it.

Next, you’ll need some paper to write your memories and affirmations on. Plain white or red paper cut into rectangles will suffice. However, for that extra romantic feel, you may want to use heart-shaped notepad paper (Amazon - $4.49) instead.

Place your notes (as many as you can think of, or one for each day of the year) in the jar and decorate to your tastes.

Get savings on your supplies with Amazon Coupon codes and Target Coupon codes.

2. Love Coupons

Many companies sell love and intimacy based coupons, like these popular Valentine’s IOU blessings (Amazon - $3.99) Pre-written booklets are great solution for the time poor, but if you really want to come up with unique valentine’s day gifts for her, why not create your own personalised love coupons? For example, if your sweetheart hates doing the dishes, you can include a “no dishes for 7 days” coupon.  Or maybe she loves breakfast in bed? You can also include a sexy selection of coupons to spice things up in the bedroom according to her tastes.

Instructions: To make these homemade Valentine’s Day gifts, all you need is a notepad. Using a ruler and scissors, cut out identically sized rectangular notes. On them, write out your customised IOUs. When you’re done, use a stapler or holepunch and string to secure your booklet together on the left side. You can also decorate your IOU booklet with these super cute heart stickers (Walmart - $12.87) to add some flair. The key to this gift is imagination. To get some of your supplies even cheaper, just use Amazon coupon codes and Walmart coupons.

3. His & Her Mugs

Another very cute and oh-so simple one of our homemade Valentine’s Day gifts ideas is a set of His & Her Mugs. This gift is a particularly cute idea for couples who have just moved in together as it’ll show her that you’re setting up house for the long haul.

Instructions: To design these unique Valentine’s gifts for her, you’ll need two white porcelain mugs, like these Food Network Fontina Mugs (Kohls - $7.99 ea). Draw a cute design, a message of love or even a cartoon depiction of you and your girl on each mug using permanent markers. We recommend Pebeo Markers (Amazon - $6.83), as they’re less likely to fade in the dishwasher. Once you’ve completed your design, bake your mugs in the oven at 350F for 30 minutes. This should seal in your design. Cool, huh?

Savvy shoppers can get their materials cheaper with Amazon coupon codes and Kohls promo codes.

4. Photo Book

Okay, so a photo book isn’t completely homemade, but it is one of the most emotionally valuable, unique Valentine’s gifts for her than you can create.  A photo book is a great way of remembering and cataloguing everything you’ve been through as a couple. And, if you go on to have children, they’ll be able to share in your earliest memories together too.

Instructions: For this easy gift, all you need is a lot of digital photos of you and your partner. Create your photo book online (for as little as $8.96 for some designs) at Walmart. There are so many customisation options that it’s easy to add a personal feel to your work. Once it’s complete, you can usually pick it up the same day, which is perfect for those last minute gifts! Get your photo book even cheaper by using Walmart coupons.
